If you are a fan of any kind of video gaming, we are super excited to share this post with you. As we enter yet another year where fresh games are being released, we’d like to highlight four of the very best strategy games you can play in 2021. The games we shall be talking about here are available to play on multiple devices, such as PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, and they all have one thing in common – they will test your strategy skills to the maximum!
Although we’ve discussed these games below, make sure you check out StrategyGamer if you feel like learning a little more.
FIFA 2021 – Career Mode
Many gamers don’t often think of FIFA as a strategy game, but when you enter the career mode, it definitely is. Given all of the advancements in FIFA games in recent years, these games are no longer about picking a team and simply trying to win championships. Instead, you need to pick and choose players based on their specific skills and potential team chemistry. You must also manage the money/budget of the club, and you even need to allocate resources to send scouts to different areas of the globe to find potential gems.
These are obviously all factors where there is a great deal of strategy involved, and on top of that, you also need to try your best to win the games themselves. This is where your decisions and strategy can have a real impact, as you’ll see whether the players you’ve brought to the club will have the desired impact or not. For these reasons, we believe that FIFA 2021 is definitely one of the best strategy games that you should play this year.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
In our opinion, this is one of the most successful series of games of all-time. As you may already know, Assassin’s Creed has released games that focus on locations all around the world, but this one is one of the classics. In a standard open-world RPG setting, you can roam around in the rather sinister world of Ancient England, where violence is around every corner. As the main character, you must choose which missions you complete in which order, what weapons you should use to work to your advantage, and whether you should go forward with stealth or brute force.
Many of these decisions must be made in real-time, which puts a nice bit of pressure on your decisions and the game as a whole. In this truly interactive environment, you just never know what’s going to happen, and before we forget – the graphics are incredible!
Battlefield Gothic – Armada 2
Here we will transition to a slightly more sci-fi-themed game, this time in the form of Battlefield Gothic: Armada 2. What we love about this one is that your tactics and strategy make a huge difference from the moment you pick up the controller. Since you must build spaceships and equip them with weapons that will enable you to conquer the various regions of this map, your careful planning is rewarded handsomely (if you do it well). This one also has more storylines and different campaigns that you can choose compared with previous Battlefield versions, which provides more variety and more excitement in general.
While this is great, the game also has all of the legendary explosions and cinematic camera angles that previous versions have contained, but this time with better graphics! Even if you’ve never played one of the Battlefield games in the past, this is definitely one that you should check out when you get the chance.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot
This one has been available since the early part of 2020, but it’s a game that is still giving players that ‘wow’ factor as we head deeper into 2021. The reason that we absolutely love this one is that it’s one of the first times that the Dragon Ball games have been developed with a true open map style. This means you need to make tough decisions on where you venture, what enemies to challenge at what times, and how to actually play the battles themselves. Whether you choose to go all-out attack against an opponent with weaker defensive skills or bide your time to gradually make the opponent more fatigued, it’s all in your hands!
Final Thoughts
As we stated, these games can be played on multiple gaming platforms, and we absolutely suggest that you try and play them if you get the chance in 2021!
