    Adam Karapetyan: COVID Desperation to $2 Million In Months

    Once COVID-19 shook the US in early 2020, everything changed for Adam Karapetyan.

    Adam had been operating a robust meal-prep company and renting commercial space to multiple food-service businesses. When COVID severely shuttered the restaurant world, things began to collapse. As the companies Adam was working with were unable to pay rents, Adam had to make a significant pivot. 

    Adam found ways to restructure the dire financial situation his company had been thrust into, and determined that he would focus on something entirely new and, more significantly, entirely needed. He investigated the personal protective equipment (PPE) Industry, and focused on nitrile gloves.

    He built Wholesale Nitrile Gloves, whose namesake and flagship product is nitrile gloves, sold in high volumes. Nitrile is a synthetic, re-processed form of latex, but widely regarded as superior material. While nitrile starts as rubber from rubber trees, it is processed in such a way that it becomes a uniquely strong and sturdy chemical, superior to latex while priced very similarly. Nitrile is a chemical-resistant and puncture-resistant material. 

    The global nitrile gloves market size was valued at a little over $3 billion in 2019 and has a projected compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.1% from 2020 to 2027. Healthcare benefits and an increase in latex allergies are two main growth factors, as people are searching for alternatives to latex. Because nitrile gloves utilize synthetic rubber, they offer more strength and flexibility while making operation easier. In many ways, they’re the perfect commercial glove.

    Adam began designing a company around acquiring and distributing high-quality personal protective equipment. Unusual market conditions made it so the “little guys” began to have access to mass quantities of nitrile, which has a limited supply chain process, and Adam was able to find success. In less than a year, Adam was able to create more than $2 million in revenue through his company, Wholesale Nitrile Gloves. 

    Just like the gloves he sells, Adam is resilient and sturdy enough even for COVID-19.
